How my journey began

Hello. My name is Dennis McDonald. I have been meditating for most of my adult life. My first experience with meditation was in 1974 when I was a student at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. It was there that I was instructed in Transcendental Meditation as was being presented by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I later practiced a meditation technique as practiced by followers of ISKCON. I practiced that technique for well over ten years. I have been practicing Primordial Sound Meditation for the last six years. Meditation has kept me grounded and happy.

As I approached retirement, I was looking for something to keep me busy while being fulfilling at the same time. It was around that time that I received an email from the Chopra Center app heralding the benefits of teaching Primordial Sound Meditation. I felt that was just what I was looking for and so I signed up for the year plus training. What a blessing it has been. Not only do I have the opportunity to teach meditation to a world that really needs it but I have also grown so much through the teachings presented by the Chopra Center. This experience has brought me to become a lifelong learner. I continue to read and study the benefits, the history and the ancient texts of meditation. I am experiencing a profound continual growth in the awareness of the divine quality of existence. I hope you find time to join me in this journey.
